direct selection of public subscription in user client doesn't display events

subscribed public events appear in the "All" view (sometimes not?), but directly selecting a public subscription does not work - no events appear.
For example, subscribe to Concerts. They will appear in the All view. Select the "Concerts" calendar - no events appear.
